Education

I am a native of the Dale County School System.  I graduated from George W. Long High School.  After high school, I attended Wallace Community College and eventually transferred to Troy University Dothan Campus.  While at Troy, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education.  In May 2016, I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master's in Library Media.

Experience

This is my sixteenth year of teaching.  All of my teaching experience has been at Newton Elementary School.  I began teaching second grade in 2008 and have had experience in fourth and sixth grades with the majority of those years being in fourth grade.  This will be my sixth year as the Library Media Specialist, and I couldn't be more excited to share my love of reading with each and every student!

Bio

I have a wonderful husband, Ben, who is also in the teaching profession.  He is a P.E. teacher in the Enterprise City Schools System.  We have one son, Eli, and a daughter, Hallie Brooke.  Both attend school here at NES. We have two cats, a dog, a bearded dragon, and some chickens.  I LOVE spending time with my family.  I also enjoy reading (when I have time), watching the Braves play, and going on vacation.
