Library Media

I am a native of the Dale County School System.  I graduated from George W. Long High School.  After high school, I attended Wallace Community College and eventually transferred to Troy University Dothan Campus.  While at Troy, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education.  In May 2016, I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master's of Education degree in Library Media.

This is my fourteenth year of teaching.  All of my teaching experience has been at Newton Elementary School.  I began teaching second grade in 2008 and have had experience in fourth and sixth grades with the majority of those years being in fourth grade.  This will be my fourth year as the Library Media Specialist, and I couldn't be more excited to share my love of reading with each and every student!

I have a wonderful husband, Ben, who is also in the teaching profession.  He is a P.E. teacher/baseball coach in the Enterprise City School System.  We have one son, Eli, who is almost ten!  He is full of life and keeps us entertained.  We have a daughter, Hallie Brooke, who just turned three.  She is the perfect mixture of sweet and sassy!  I have one cat named Sophie who has been with me longer than I've been teaching.  I LOVE spending time with my family.  I also enjoy reading (when I have time), watching the Braves play, and going on vacation.
